Steven Chew
Senior Game Designer
I was the Lead Designer for the first DLC release for Just Cause 4, Dare Devils of Destruction! I was responsible for the vision and direction of the DLC, and collaborated with various departments including Gameplay, Art, Systems, and UI to create an accessible yet challenging driving experience with high replay value.
The content of the DLC is spread out across three distinct challenge modes (Survival, Rampage, and Run) which pit players against various obstacles as they try to score as many points as possible. By doing well in these challenges, players unlock various vehicles with upgraded attachments that provide better offensive, defensive, or support capabilities.
The following is the launch trailer as well as some highlights from the DLC:

I designed and implemented various Strike Missions in Just Cause 4. The Strikes take place at specific locations, with each having a specific purpose in the country of Solis (factory, military, research, etc). I was responsible for pitching the idea for the Strikes, blocking out the level layout and prototyping the objectives, planning out and implementing the combat encounters, and then iterating on the design and bugfixing until ship. During this process, I collaborated with various departments (art, systems, combat, narrative, and others) to ensure that the aesthetic and gameplay goals were achieved.
